Why a written return-to-work program matters

When a driver gets hurt, the expensive part is usually not the injury. It is the weeks of open claim while nobody has decided what the driver is allowed to do. A written return-to-work program shortens that by defining modified and light-duty work in advance, who authorizes it, and how progress gets documented.

A program that holds up covers medical release requirements, what transitional duty is available, how long it lasts, how often it is reviewed, and what happens if a driver cannot return. Applied consistently, it keeps workers' compensation exposure down and keeps the decision out of the realm of case-by-case judgment.
